Windows 10 update 1511 and AVG
The new upgrade to Windows 10 update 1511 is here and we have experienced one thing with AVG Anti Virus which users will want to bear in mind before they get frustrated and throw the computer out of the window! You can download Windows from the official site by clicking here.
Once the Windows upgrade / update has completed, and this is painless and user friendly, you must bear in mind there is usually going to be a required update to AVG as well.
Until this AVG update has been installed and the computer restarted, the AVG firewall may block some internet activity. Without realising, you may think that the internet doesn’t work after the update. It’s only because the AVG needs an update too.
So keep calm, and make sure you update AVG, restart and then see if the internet works okay. We tried it on a couple of our machines that have AVG installed and it fixed the issue straight away. Even though the machine gave the impression you couldn’t get on the internet, AVG still could. It updated and the restart meant all was well. Onwards and Upwards!
Hope this helps with your Windows 10 update 1511. If not, there is more information on Microsoft Windows 10 Update Service components page.
